Now and Then

This writing journey has been a very emotional one for me. For me to write about as many things that I can remember, I literally have had to relive each experience. The experiences that I have recorded here are only a fraction of the ones that I can remember. I have reflected on my entire lifetime so that I might selectively record the memories that would demonstrate the kind of life and times, “Now and Then”, that I have lived through. Hopefully, I have accomplished that. Had I recorded all my thoughts I would not have had the time to put all of them into written words. I calculate that it has taken me approximately twenty-seven, eight-hour days to record what I have written. That does not include all the time that I spent just thinking about the memories and putting my book together.

Yes, there have been times of great heartache and sorrow, but other times of much happiness and joy. There have been times when Mary and I felt like the song by Tanya Tucker, “Two Sparrows in a Hurricane.” We learned that life is not how to survive the storm but learning how to dance in the rain.
